National Grid Steps up Incentives for Energy Recovery Ventilation

Bob SiroisBob Sirois | (781) 681-3276

National Grid recently announced a new utility incentive program for Energy Recovery Ventilation in the Northeast territory. The program is entitled “ERV Custom Express” and is supported by a new software tool and user guide.

ERV Custom Express has been designed for both New and Retrofit ERV applications and produces upfront incentive values to offset up to 75% of the incremental cost of ERV. Built-in utility costs within National Grid’s territory are used to calculate energy savings based on weather bin data and time of day use. AHRI ratings are used to verify ERV performance inputs for effectiveness and pressure drop.

Greenheck Energy WheelERV Custom Express can be used by building owners and consulting engineers to quantify ERV incentives and paybacks upfront in the design process or when planning the replacement of older HVAC systems. Initial examples of new and retrofit applications indicate rebate values on the order of $0.75 to $3.45 per CFM depending outdoor air volume, hours of operation and incremental cost. In general, longer hours of operation earn greater incentives. Cash incentives are paid directly to the building owner or his designee and are in addition to other NGRID efficiency incentives already in place.

If you have any questions, Airxchange together with your local National Grid representative will offer training and support for ERV Custom Express. National Grid has assigned a team of folks to support this rebate initiative.

Ebtron Introduces AutoCAD Libraries

Ebtron Tools
Mike LeydonMike Leydon | (781) 681-3265

Ebtron has developed a library of AutoCAD Templates that you will help enhance your design drawings while minimizing the design teams exposure. The documents were created in collaboration with the local engineering communities comments. This is Buckley’s first wave of distribution material that support your AutoCAD requirements for Ebtron Electronic Air Flow Measurement on your projects.

  • AutoCAD files saved under three different versions to make it a seamless integration into your existing version of AutoCAD
  • Several plain view configurations of airflow measurement stations
  • Application details for airflow measurement stations
  • Fan Inlet airflow measurement stations
  • Energy Recovery airflow measurement stations
  • Schedules for airflow measurement stations with common notes based on our experience
  • Minimum placement guidelines to help ensure the accuracy levels you need for your design
